Ocean Sky Presents Victoria Beckham With Luxury Award

Stephen Grimes, group chief executive of private jet company Ocean Sky, last night presented the ‘Best Emerging British Luxury Brand’ award to fashion label Victoria Beckham at the prestigious Walpole Awards for Excellence.
Victoria Beckham is the eponymous fashion brand of the internationally famous pop star and style icon. She has enjoyed a spectacular rise to fashion stardom in a little over three years. With collections regularly seen on red carpets globally and an enviable A-list following, Victoria Beckham has fast become a respected designer and business woman.
Collecting the award on behalf of Victoria Beckham were Saskia Terzani, the company’s sales director, and Julian Henry, head of communications for XIX Entertainment, Victoria Beckham’s artist management company.
Speaking at the ceremony at Banqueting House in London, Grimes said: “As the sponsor of this award we are delighted to honour such an exciting winner. The ‘Best Emerging British Luxury Brand’ category honours British companies established within the last 10 years that have demonstrated in 2011 the potential and ability to develop into established luxury brands.
Victoria Beckham beat an impressive field of nominees, including perfumery Ormonde Jayne, fashion designer Osman Yousefzada, shoe designer Charlotte Olympia and jewellery designer Annoushka.
The award was judged by Michael Ward, managing director of Harrods; Lucia Van der Post, doyenne of luxury style journalism; and Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council.
The ceremony, now in its 10th year, was attended by over 500 luxury industry executives.
